Pillar 1

Healthcare for All

The Problem → My Policy Plan →  Outcomes

THE PROBLEM

WHAT WE'RE UP AGAINST

Premiums rise every year. Mental health care is unreachable for most. Maternal mortality for Black women is 3x the state average. Prevention is treated like a luxury.

MY POLICY PLAN

WHAT WE'LL DO ON DAY ONE, AND BEYOND

Prevention-First model: free annual wellness, screenings, and dental for every Californian.

Integrated mental + physical health: a therapist within 48 hours, statewide.

Cap insulin, inhalers, and EpiPens at $25. End surprise billing for emergency care, period.

Expand healthcare workforce training and loan forgiveness for nurses, therapists, and primary care doctors.

California Cares: a public option offering coverage at cost to every resident.

OUTCOMES

What success looks like

Universal mental health access.

30% reduction in preventable hospitalizations.

Eliminate medical bankruptcy by 2030.

“I have personally struggled with mental health, and I know how hard it is when you can't afford help. Every Californian deserves access to quality healthcare without going broke.”

— SOPHIA EDUM-A-SAM
